The Chickering Grand is a fantastic example of intuitive engineering. Starting as one of the earliest piano manufacturers in the United States, the Chickering family now represents an early dawn of the golden age of American music. These pianos are sometimes still manufactured today by the Baldwin corporation and can range in value depending on the condition and modeling. This is a fairly recent model - yet it’s had plenty of time to become adjusted to its’ environments. While it has had many minor restorations, tunings, and cleanings, this Chickering is in such great condition it never required any major restoration. Not only is this a piece of history - it’s also an excellent example of musicianship and craftsmanship.
